Information Technology Highlights
Information Technology is a marketing tool that improves productivity through innovative applications that energize DCVB visitor promotion and marketing. These applications include technology resources, such as hardware, software, databases, and networks, as well as the design, tracking, development, and upkeep of performance indicators and other measurement tools.

either a date or range of dates. |
- Developed a Web-based portal to make it easier and more efficient for event organizers to submit entries to the online Durham Community Event Calendar.
- Developed a database for DCVB’s 200+ visitor-related measurement indicators to make it easier and more productive to collect and analyze trends and performance.
- Developed technology improvements to track the group sales pipeline activity from initial contact, follow-ups, lead generation, and bookings, making it easier and faster to identify the most productive ratios and report the status of group leads and bookings.
- Developed database-driven improvements and innovations in productivity for the update and production of visitor publications.
- Implemented usage of wireless laptops to improve the productivity of marketing and sales staff working from the road during sales trips and during meetings outside the office.
- Updated and maintained a 10,000+ entry database of civic and business leaders and resident opinion-leaders.
- Implemented a method to rapidly integrate third-party sales prospect lists into the Bureau’s master database for easier and quicker follow up after a sales trip or sales promotion.
