Great Holiday Dining in Durham

The holiday season in Durham is the most wonderful time of the year for reconnecting with family, friends, and of course; food. As “The Tastiest Town in the South,” Durham has a (turkey) leg up on other cities. While many restaurants across the country close for the Christmas holiday, there are plenty of places to go in Durham for the classics; Christmas Ham, gingerbread, sweet potato pie and eggnog.

Don’t spend Christmas in the kitchen, when there are restaurants ready to wait on you. Treat the family to a dinner at the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club’s Fairview Dining Room. The restaurant will be serving a 4-course Christmas Eve dinner on December 24 from 5:30-9pm from a $65 per person prix fixe menu. On Christmas Day, the restaurant will host a buffet including a chef’s carving station and dessert display for $69 per person. For reservations, visit

With Durham restaurants, the most important holiday decisions can be as easy as choosing between pumpkin pie and apple pie.
