Durham is home to several film festivals each year. The biggest and most well-known is the annual Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, which occurs in April. It is internationally known and thousands attend, yet the festival is quite accessible to visitors.
Durham‘s acceptance of diversity also makes it a ready home to the 10-day long NC Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. This event is typically held in late August and early September each year. There are also film festivals for those who enjoy works in other genres, including fantasy, horror, Latina/o culture, history, and even LEGOs (no joke).
Below is a list of film festivals and series held in Durham annually.
