Durham Arts Council, Royall Center for the Arts
The Arts Council is part of the Durham Civic Center Complex and the Royall Center for the Arts. The former 1906 high school and city hall is home to the Durham Arts Council, anchor for 18 community arts groups. Houses Allenton Gallery of photography by local and visiting artists, Central Carolina Bank Gallery with weekly exhibits and Semans Gallery monthly exhibits.
Directions:
I-85 North (arriving from Atlanta, Charlotte, Greensboro, etc.):

- Take Exit #172 (Durham Freeway/Hwy 147 South/Downtown)
- Follow Durham Frwy for approximately 5-6 miles
- Take exit #12 (Mangum St/Roxboro St Downtown)
- Continue straight, crossing Mangum St, turn left onto Roxboro St
- Follow Roxboro St to 4th traffic light
- Bear left getting onto the Downtown Loop (Morgan St)
- Durham Arts Council Building is on Morris St side of the same complex
I-85 South (arriving from NY, DC, VA, etc.):

- Take exit #177-A (Durham Downtown)
- At end of exit ramp follow signs for Hwy 15-501 Business South (Mangum St)
- Follow for approximately 1-2 miles, turn right onto Morgan St
- Durham Arts Council Building is on Morris St side of the same complex
I-40 East (arriving from Asheville, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, etc):

- I-40 East and I-85 North merge in Greensboro, NC
- When highways divide near Hillsborough, NC, take I-85 North
- Follow directions for I-85 North as listed above
I-40 West (arriving from Wilmington, Fayetteville, Raleigh, etc.):

- Take exit #279-B, the Durham Fwy(Hwy 147 North)
- Exit Durham Fwy at exit #12-B, Roxboro St, turn right
- Follow Roxboro St to third traffic light
- Bear left getting onto the Downtown Loop (Morgan St)
- Follow Morgan St for four blocks
- Durham Arts Council Building is on Morris St side of the same complex
