Jerry Uelsmann will give a talk as a keynote speaker of the Click! Triangle Photography Festival at the Nasher Museum Auditorium at Duke University, followed by a reception and book-signing at Through This Lens Gallery.
Uelsmann (1934-present) has been recognized as a master of photo-manipulation for over forty years. His photographs are created with traditional black and white darkroom techniques, but with startling effects. His surreal, ambiguous images blur the separation between the natural world and the inner world of emotion. Uelsmann has received numerous awards and recognitions for his work, including a Guggenheim Fellowship and a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship. He has published over twenty books of his photography, and his work has been exhibited in more than one hundred museums around the world.
