Learn to weave on a rigid heddle loom and make a pocket, purse or bowl! Rigid heddle looms have been used for centuries to introduce weaving concepts and loom operation. In this hands-on workshop you’ll discover how rigid heddle looms work as you set up and weave assorted yarns and fibers. Your multi-textured weaving sample will then be removed from the loom and, with a few knots and stitches, transformed into a cuff, small bag, hanging ornament or table top décor. Jan will discuss other projects which can be made on this small rigid heddle loom as well as point out the similar features and operation of the 4-harness loom. No prior weaving experience necessary. All materials provided. A $5 loom materials fee is due to Jan for the first class/workshop taken if you want to keep the loom setup. Bring your weaving questions, scraps of crazy yarns in your stash, and a friend to share the fun! Become a Weaver! Pre-registration for this event is required.
