Born in Brooklyn, NY of Caribbean heritage, Nikeita has been immersed in the colorful world of music from the start. Singing and playing several instruments from a young age, both in school and church honed Nikeita's ear for music. Having an aptitude for the field of Information Technology, Nikeita coupled her technical background with the fundamentals of music and performance. This merger of skill sets allowed for an additional creative expansion into the world recording engineering and music production.
In 2000, Nikeita enrolled at Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD. During her time in Maryland, opportunities to stay connected to the stage continued with invitations to work with innovative artists such as Mia Miata, Mamounia Yousef and soon after becoming a member of the premier Hip-hop fusion group Brown F.I.S.H. featuring Jahiti and Derek OOH Jones. After Morgan State, Nikeita returned to New York and shortly after was hired as a Producer/ Operations Manager for Tribecaradio.net where she was responsible for the production and broadcast of several well known talk radio programs and on-air live music performances. During this time, she was introduced to up and coming producer named Justin Imperiali which resulted in a featured performance on his self- titled album.
Word spread of her vocal and writing abilities and as a result, became an in demand writer and performer in the NY/NJ House music scene. In 2010, Nikeita relocated to Los Angeles, CA and has since been awarded the opportunity to perform, record or compose with Jarius Mozee, Jessica Childress, Jae Deal, Keisha Epps, Brely Evans, Joi Gilliam, Lynette Williams, Jimetta Rose, Bennie Rogers II, Iajhi Hampden and Grammy nominated and award winning artists such as Bilal, Safiq Hussein, Jacob Luttrell, Herman Jackson, and Boney James.
As a solo artist, she has graced the stage of many Los Angeles venues including: Zanzibar - Santa Monica, The Greenway Court Theater - Los Angeles, Angels - Santa Monica, Skinny's - North Hollywood, The Federal Bar- North Hollywood, and, weekly residencies at the Sayers Club in Hollywood and El Bar - Studio City.
