Museum of Life and Science
Rated in the top four family-friendly museums in the Southeast by Family Fun magazine, the Museum of Life and Science is a 78-acre, 50,000 square foot regional science-technology center offering learning opportunities for people of all ages. All exhibits combine science and fun while stimulating creativity and a sense of discovery.
Pilot a spacecraft and touch a tornado in hands-on science and technology exhibits for all ages. Meet native Carolina wildlife on a train ride through the Nature Park. The museum also includes the Magic Wings Butterfly House, the largest museum butterfly house east of the Mississippi, Bayer CropScience Insectarium, Loblolly Park, Ellerbee Creek Railway, Dinosaur Trail and exhibits for Aerospace, Data Earth, Scientifica, Bodytech and Carolina Wildlife.

Self-Guided Tour length: 2 hours. Groups of 10 or more: Schools - $6.00/person; Other groups: $7.00/person Chaperones required to pay admission. Museum recommends 2 week notice for groups.

Directions:
- I-85 North (arriving from Atlanta, Charlotte, Greensboro, etc.):
- Take Duke St. exit, turn right.
- Follow Duke St. for less than 1 mile to second traffic light.
- Turn right onto Murray Ave.
- Museum of Life & Science is approximately 1/2 mile ahead.
- Bus parking is on the right.
- I-85 South (arriving from NY, DC, VA, etc.):
- Same as directions for I-85 North.
- I-40 East (arriving from Memphis, Asheville, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, etc):
- I-40 East and I-85 North merge in Greensboro, NC.
- When highways divide near Hillsborough, NC, take I-85 North.
- Follow directions for I-85 North as listed above.
- I-40 West (arriving from Wilmington, Fayetteville, Raleigh, etc.):
- Take Exit #279-B, the Durham Fwy. (Hwy. 147 North).
- Continue Durham Frwy for approximately 7-8 miles
- Take exit #12-C (Duke St)
- Follow Duke St. for approximately 3 miles.
- Turn right onto Murray Ave.
- Museum of Life & Science is approximately 1/2 mile ahead.
- Bus parking is on the left.
