The Durham Convention Center is located in the City Center District of Downtown Durham, four miles from Research Triangle Park, one mile from NC Central University, and cradled by the three campuses of Duke University.
Downtown is a compact and walkable 4 square mile area, with 4 million square feet of historic tobacco warehouses and cotton mills, all painstakingly restored into unique shops, bustling restaurants, loft-style apartments, trendy artist studios, thriving businesses. There are also several theaters Downtown, including the new Durham Performing Arts Center, as well as the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
The Durham Convention Center is also part of the overall Convention Center Complex, including a parking deck, plaza, and several arts theaters, galleries, and pre-function spaces that can be incorporated with the Convention Center to host larger events. The Durham Convention Center is within a ten minute shuttle ride of over 3,200 guest rooms; with additional hotel rooms under development, the Center will soon have 500 guest rooms within walking distance.
