Durham's Annual Tribute Luncheon
This year, Durham’s Annual Tribute Luncheon celebrated the Gospel of Durham, honoring Pastor Shirley Caesar for her tireless and selfless contributions to Durham over the course of her lifetime, helping to shape our unique sense of place.
The gospel is the good news - the news that others should know. Pastor Caesar has been spreading the gospel of faith for decades, and she’s been preaching the gospel of Durham all that time, too.
Her name is synonymous with Gospel music yet her career has transcended the genre. A Durham native, business woman, former civic leader, and cheerleader, her love for her hometown is one of the many things that help make it great.
