Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm
Saturday 10:00am - 2:00pm
After-hours lobby display and internet kiosk available 6:00pm - midnight

Directions to the Durham Visitor Information Center From:

I-85 North (Atlanta, Charlotte, Greensboro)
I-85 South (New York, Washington D.C., Richmond)
I-40 East (Memphis, Asheville, Winston-Salem, Greensboro)
I-40 West (Wilmington, Fayetteville, Raleigh)
Hwy 70 West Bypass (Raleigh)
Hwy 55 West (Fayetteville, Fuquay-Varina, Apex)
Hwy 501 South (Lynchburg, South Boson, Roxboro)
Hwy 501 North (Pinehurst, Sanford, Pittsboro, Chapel Hill)
Bull City Connector Fare-Free Route (Duke University, Downtown, Golden Belt)

I-85 North (arriving from Atlanta, Charlotte, Greensboro, etc.):

Take the “Durham Downtown” exit #177.
At end of the exit ramp turn right onto Roxboro St.
Roxboro St. leads directly onto Mangum St.; follow Downtown signs.
Travel approximately 1 mile from Interstate to the intersection of Mangum St. and Seminary St.
Durham Visitor Information Center is on the left.

I-85 South (arriving from New York, Washington D.C., Richmond, etc.):

Take the “Durham Downtown” exit #177.
Continue to North Roxboro St. and turn left.
Roxboro St. leads directly onto Mangum St.; follow Downtown signs.
Travel approximately 1 mile from Interstate to the intersection of Mangum St. and Seminary St.
Durham Visitor Information Center is on the left.

I-40 East (arriving from Memphis, Asheville, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, etc.):

I-40 East and I-85 North merge in Greensboro.
When highways divide again near Hillsborough, take I-85 North.
Follow directions for I-85 North above.

I-40 West (arriving from Wilmington, Fayetteville, Raleigh, etc.):

Follow I-40 West to the Durham freeway, (Hwy 147 North) exit #279-B.
Continue on Durham Freeway (Hwy 147 North) for approximately 4 miles.
Exit at Roxboro St/Mangum St. exit (#12-B).
At the bottom of the exit ramp turn right onto Roxboro St. following signs for Downtown.
At the 3rd light bear left onto the Downtown Loop ( Morgan St.).
Durham Visitor Information Center is on the right at the first light.

Highway 70 West Bypass (arriving from Raleigh):

Take Hwy 70 West Bypass, which merges with I-85 South.
Continue I-85 South and take the “Durham Downtown” exit #177.
Continue to North Roxboro St. and turn left.
Roxboro St. leads directly onto Mangum St.; follow Downtown signs.
Travel approximately 1 mile from Interstate to the intersection of Mangum St. and Seminary St.
Durham Visitor Information Center is on the left.

Highway 55 West (arriving from Fayetteville, Fuquay-Varina, Apex, etc.):

Follow Hwy 55 West to the Durham Freeway.
Take Durham Freeway, Hwy 147 North.
Exit at Roxboro St./Mangum St. exit (#12-B).
At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn right onto Roxboro St., following signs for Downtown.
At the 3rd light bear left onto the Downtown Loop/Morgan St..
Durham Visitor Information Center is on the right at the first light.

Highway 501 South (arriving from Lynchburg, South Boston, Roxboro, etc.):

Take the 501 South into North Carolina.
Continue on Roxboro St., which leads directly onto Mangum St.; follow Downtown signs.
Travel approximately 1 mile from I-85 Interstate to the intersection of Mangum St. and Seminary St.
Durham Visitor Information Center is on the left.

Highway 501 North (arriving from Pinehurst, Sanford, Pittsboro, Chapel Hill, etc.):

From Pinehurst, take US 1 into Sanford and continue onto 15-501 North.
Continue on 15-501 North into Durham.
Take 15-501 bypass to I-85 North and exit #177.
At the end of the ramp, merge right onto Roxboro St.
Roxboro St. leads directly onto Mangum St.; follow Downtown signs.
Travel approximately 1 mile from I-85 Interstate to the intersection of Mangum St. and Seminary St.
