Retail Therapy
Visiting a new place, or returning to one, is always bittersweet in that home beckons with its rather persistent call. So, why not take a piece of Durham home? After all, who doesn’t like to spend a bit of time perusing the wares of a shop or two?
Shopping opportunities in Durham are as varied as the population. There are homespun local shops selling everything from kitsch and vintage merchandise to high-end fashion and home décor. Durham has some quaint districts like Brightleaf Square and Ninth Street that have great variety.
For those who might believe that the world has not yet found Durham, we also have The Streets at Southpoint, a super-regional mall of national acclaim and Southern charm. Easy to get to and to leave, retailers like Nordstrom, Anthropologie, Coach, and Williams-Sonoma make statements with their presence in this destination shopping center.
