Join expert photographer Melissa Southern to effectively observe nature, improve your ability to see possibilities in a setting and become a 'photo-naturalist.' Duke Chorale Celebration Concert, directed by Rodney Wynkoop
Featuring highlights from the group's 2012-13 season. The Chorale will perform an eclectic array of selections ranging from the Baroque to modern, including folksongs and spirituals. The Duke Chorale is a primarily undergraduate concert choir at Duke University, performing an extensive repertoire of choral pieces. They perform numerous concerts around North Carolina each year and make an annual concert tour over spring break. FREE admission.

"Designing with Flowers" Class Begins
Create a flower arrangement each week with assistance from Theo Roddy. The four-week class covers use of fresh, silk and dried flowers, the basics of floral design, and how to select the proper container for flowers so they can be enjoyed at home. You'll be assigned a type of flower and container to bring each week. All supporting supplies are provided. Meets in the greenhouse classroom. $95; $75 Gardens members.

Blessing of the Animals
The Blessing of Animals service is held each year near the Feast Day of St. Francis. All persons who love animals, along with all pets and their human friends are invited to this service that focuses upon God's gifts of animals, the natural world, and our responsibilities as stewards of God's creation. With music by the Durham Children's Choir and information booths staffed by local animal protection and welfare groups.

"Street Exposure: The Photographs of Ronald Reis" Photography Exhibit
Reisís photographs taken in New York and London over a ten-year period, mainly during the 1960s, a time when photographers like Lee Friedlander, Diane Arbus, and Garry Winogrand were also documenting the commonplace, the extraordinary within the ordinary. Reis has continued to photograph streetscapes in the U.S. and abroad, now using digital cameras and printing in color as well as black and white. FREE admission.
