Bull City Connector

The Bull City Connector is a fare-free bus service that runs along Main St. and Erwin Rd., connecting many of Durham's central destinations, including Duke University, Ninth Street, Downtown Durham, and Golden Belt. Busses run from M-Th, 6:20am-10pm; F, 6:20am-midnight; Sa, 7:20am-midnight. Busses come every 20 or 25 minutes.

Duke Transit operates more than 30 buses with routes throughout the campus and health system. Students, staff, faculty and visitors can ride campus buses at no charge. GoPass is a free local and regional bus pass, to students and eligible Duke staff and faculty. To be eligible, employees must work on East, West, Central and Medical Center campuses; the American Tobacco Campus; or within one-half mile of the East,West, Central or Medical campuses. Duke also operates eight vans available to students and employees during specified hours to and from campus and Medical Center areas where bus service is not available. The buses offer an alternative to walking alone or in isolated areas of campus. For more information about Duke vans, call 684-2020.

Durham Area Transit Authority (DATA)

The Durham Area Transit Authority (DATA) serves all parts of Durham, including RTP. Schedules vary by bus route, but most run from M-Sa, 6am-12:30am with reduced service on Sundays and holidays. One-way fares are available as well as regional passes available for one-, five-, and 31-day periods that provide unlimited rides on DATA, Triangle Transit, and busses in Raleigh and Cary. Busses accept coins, bills, and ride passes, are wheelchair accessible, and equipped with bicycle racks. Children under 12 and the elderly ride free.

Triangle Transit operates a regional bus service connecting Durham to Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Apex, Hillsborough, and Wake Forest. Busses run daily, but schedules vary by route. Each bus is wheelchair accessible and is equipped with a bicycle rack. One-way fares are available as well as regional passes available for one-, five-, and 31-day periods that provide unlimited rides on Triangle Transit busses, as well as busses operated by the Durham Area Transit Authority and bus systems in the connected towns.

Durham Symphony Orchestra Halloween Spooktacular Concert

An evening of fun-filled musical offerings for the whole family including holiday inspired works by Copeland, Stravinsky, Saint Saëns and Williams. Paperhand Puppet Intervention, creator of giant puppets, masks and shadow plays joins the DSO in staged performances of Gounod's Funeral March of a Marionette and Stravinsky's Infernal Dance of King Katschei from the Firebird Suite. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. Food trucks, beginning at 6pm. Best Costume contest. Hands-on instrument fun with High Strung Petting Zoo. Special guests Faith Baptist Church Children's Choir. FREE admission.
