Works by Mark Cool. Salvaging is a big part of Mark's process. Origin, age, and patina of objects matter a lot. The older the better, he loves the historic preservation aspect- taking pieces of history and giving them new life. His materials come from abandoned buildings, old gutted homes, dumpster diving, and gathering what he finds on the street, railroad tracks, in the woods, or a field. On rare occasions Mark gets stuff from thrift stores, reuse stores or metal scrap yards.

With two dimensional art, it’s common practice that pieces are hung undisturbed on gallery walls from the time an exhibit opens until the time it closes. What happens when an artist shatters that tradition and chooses instead to invite the viewer to take part in the intentional destruction of art? Anna Wallace will explore this idea - See more at: http://scrapexchange.org/cameron-gallery/#sthash.43LF5VHt.dpuf
