Join other homeschool students at Duke Gardens in a small group setting with classes designed to maximize exploration in nature. Learn methods scientists use to safely catch and study living things in different habitats. A range of techniques will be used in each class, depending on the area investigated and the animals you might be expected to find, and you'll submit your findings to a citizen science database. In this "Life in the Air" section, you'll study wings of all kinds in flight and net some of these flying creatures to observe them more closely. Keep an eye out for newly emerging butterflies, listen for freshly hatched baby birds, and search for out-of-reach animal homes. Additional Naturalist Class sections: Feb. 26, March 19 and April 16. Please also see the Naturalist Class opportunities for ages 5-6. Location: Meet at the Doris Duke Center.
Please ask about our younger sibling policy. Parking: Parking pass included.
