Take a walk in the forest and join a growing tradition called Shinrin Yoku that began in Japan. The idea is simple: If you visit natural areas, sitting or walking in a mindful way, you will feel rejuvenated and calm. Instructor Dana Galinsky-Malaguti, a certified forest therapy guide, will facilitate gentle, guided walks that support well-being through sensory immersion in forests and other naturally healing environments. In the past several decades, many scientific studies have documented the healing effect of wild and natural areas. Shinrin Yoku builds upon traditions from cultures that recognize the benefits of a mindful immersion in natural environments. Each walk will end with a refreshment and discussion. Dana brings a wealth of experience in medicine, yoga, coaching and personal training to her role as a certified forest therapy guide. Location: Meet at the Doris Duke Center. Participant limit: 12
