Read in public and mingle with new, bookish friends! Silent Book Clubs are a way to read books of your choosing in public in companionable silence. Get a beverage, get a meal, and tackle some books on your To Be Read pile! Second Thursdays at Beyu Caffe, mingle from 6:30-7, read silently from 7-8, then wrap up and mingle further at 8pm. Mention you're a member of Silent Book Club while shopping at Letters Bookshop in Durham and receive 20% off your Book Club purchases! And the night of Book Club, Letters Bookshop will have some books to peruse if you're not sure what to read!
More on Silent Book Clubs here: https://silentbook.club/pages/about-us "We believe there's no shame in drinking alone, especially when you have a good book for company. In fact, most of the time we'd rather be left alone with our book, thank you very much creepy guy asking what we're reading. And, added bonus for the parents out there: your kids can't follow you into the bar. If only you had a bouncer for your bathroom. But you don't need alcohol to read with friends. Silent Book Club is about community. Bring a book, bring a friend. Then read, wine, repeat."
