Postcards from the collection of history lover John Schelp.

To know Durham history is to know ‘the ridge.' Main Street and the railroad tracks follow an East/West ridge. Durham's cotton mills, tobacco factories, colleges, hospitals, City Hall, County Courthouse and earliest shopping districts are all located on the ridge. As a result, most of the postcards in this collection document buildings found on the ridge: from Duke and Erwin Mills in the West - to Durham Hosiery and Golden Belt in the East.

Visitors to the exhibit will see over 100 vintage postcards from John's collection and learn some history along the way.

Special Talk with John Schelp. Saturday, Feb 24 at 1pm.
