Dashi is a traditional Japanese ramen shop and izakaya (Japanese pub) in Downtown Durham. Centering on exquisite ramen noodle bowls, the menu also features innovative small plates and a unique sake and shochu list.
The second story izakaya offers dinner and late night fare along with craft cocktails, shochu, Japanese whiskey, a sake and wine list curated by Wine Authorities' Craig Heffley, and beer, including a selection from Ponysaurus Brewing Company brewed exclusively for Dashi.
In an article in Saveur, acclaimed chef Ashley Christensen said that Dashi has "an ambitious list of perfectly executed bar snacks." She also said the ramen is "delicious," and called the miso her favorite.
